Using the iMac Set up wizard to connect

This page is for setting up a connection to (the Internet) FreeUK using an
iMac, this method of set up will not work on any other kind of Apple
Macintosh computer.



Firstly click on your apple icon then go to control
panels and click on 'Internet Setup Assistant'.



This is the first screen you will see which will require you to click on Yes.



You will then be taken to this page on which you should click Yes.



Click on the right arrow to continue.



On this screen , type FreeUK for the name of the connection and make sure
there is a Tick on the 'Modem' option then click the right arrow to continue.



The next screen will require you to select which modem you're using, the
selection you see here is the standard imac internal modem and no changes
need be made. Click on the right arrow to continue.



The next screen will require you to type the phone number you wish
to dial, your username and your password, once done, click on the right
arrow to continue.



On this page you will need to select 'No' to using a PPP script then, click
on the right arrow to continue.



On this page you will need to select 'No' then click on the right arrow to continue.



The next screen will require you to enter two sets of numbers which are
FreeUK's DNS server addresses, the numbers are as shown in the screen
shot above, click on the right arrow to continue.



This is where you will need to enter your FreeUK email address as shown
below, also you'll need to enter your FreeUK connection password. Once
this is done, click on the right arrow to continue.



The next screen will also ask you for your FreeUK email address and also
FreeUK's outgoing email server, which is relay.freeuk.net, click on right
arrow to proceed.



The next screen will only require you to enter FreeUK's news server address, which is news.freeuk.net, click on the right arrow to proceed.



'No' should be selected on this screen, then click on the right arrow to proceed.



Click 'Go Ahead' to finalize the connection and connect to FreeUK. If you do
not wish to connect now , then click on 'Quit' on the next screen to stop the
dialing process, then go to Control Panels / Remote Access will bring
up the configuration you just made.
