Viewing Newsgroups using Free Agent

Setting up your computer to view Newsgroups using Forte Free Agent. The first
time you run Free Agent you will automatically be shown the Set up option.



Fill in the details with your name, username and email address.The FreeUK news and mail servers are as shown to the left. Examples of FreeUK newsgroups:

freeuk.announce
freeuk.chat
freeuk.help
freeuk.quake-off
freeuk.systems



After filling in all the correct details above you will then see the option to retrieve all
the FreeUK news groups. Press "yes" and make sure that your modem is available
to connect to FreeUK. FreeUK currently carries over 40,000 newsgroups so this process may take some time.

Choose on the list of groups for ones you want to follow regularly or click on 'Find' from the 'Edit' menu (Ctrl + f) to look for the groups in which you may be interested. When you find a group that may be of interest, double-click it and the 'View
Empty Group' dialog box will appear (as shown here).

If you want to get a few examples for the group before subscribing, press the
'Sample Message Headers' button. If you decide at a later stage that you are interested in a group, you can subscribe to it by selecting 'Subscribe' from
the 'Group' menu and the same menu to unsubscribe to the newsgroup.
